Before you check out Realboy this weekend, i got a chance to sit down with them in their home studio, and this is what we talked about.
A new video by Tiger Love just dropped today for their track “Gio Gio”. Video directed by: Asaf t. Mann and Guy J. Bolandi. Check out some chicks rolling around in egg yolk. Don’t forget from the last post, they are on tour with Uffie, Kavinsky, Feadz and more. These guys need to be signed already.
I’m,What You Need,When You Feel,Your In Love,Your In Love.
Stumbled upon DFA Records’ website today, and realized Shit Robot (Marcus Lambkin) just released an amazing stop motion video to his track, “Losing My Patience” from the new album, From Cradle to the Rave. This video directed by, Fergal Brennan, seriously brings you back to good old VH1. So detailed, can tell how much work was put into it. The vocals might sound familiar because they belong to Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip.
Check out more from Shit Robot at his website
Of course, also check out the remix by Hot Chip http://soundcloud.com/dfa-records/shit-robot-losing-my
and work by Fergal http://www.mynameisfergal.com/
Well, the nice guys over at Our House Records decided to throw another show, and it appears that they’re trying to set a trend for booking quality artists. Their last show, Day One, was dominated by heavy hitters Fukkk Offf and Le Castle Vania. This time it looks like they went with the exceptional musical stylings of Felix Cartal.
360 Ritch Street, San Francisco, CA (SF’s SOMA District)

Previews of the artists:
Dynamics: I’ve seen them once as a colab with Realboy and another time by themselves, and I have to say that they don’t disappoint. Their interests are not locked to a single genre, so their live performances are packed with variety, as opposed to the five hour wobble sessions that I’m sure most of you are used to; it keeps the night interesting. Check them out on SoundCloud and Facebook.
Realboy: Pretty much everyone at NVRMND loves Realboy. A few of us have had the pleasure of seeing them grow as artists, and it’s safe to say that they are well on their way to becoming masterful DJs. They’ve been hinting for the last couple of weeks that this show is a funky one, so those of you who will be in attendance should expect high levels of groove to hit your ears. If you haven’t already listened/downloaded it, Realboy made a fantastic mix for us a while back, which is still available HERE. Haven’t heard their music? Here’s of their hits, Welcome to Hell:
Felix Cartal: Beloved member of Dim Mak Records and true master of electronic music, Felix Cartal is a DJ that you can’t afford to miss. Know for his versatility and intense distortion, Mr. Cartal is living proof that Canada knows how to make quality DJs. Check out one of his more recent tracks, titled “World Class Driver”:
Now if that didn’t sound good enough already, part of the NVRMND team will be there showing our support. We’ll be baring gifts for those of you in the front rows, so be sure to push your way forward and keep your hands up.
See you there,
Miami-based graffiti artist, Typoe, recently presented his latest piece of art titled “Confetti Death”. The piece was one of the most iconic ones down at the Art Basel in Miami this year, and, at least is my opinion, is probably one of the most innovative ones that we’ve seen lately coming from a modern street artist. It’s pretty incredible to see how street and urban art is slowly but surely shifting to the more sophisticated world of in-gallery artwork. The gallery world is in fact not only designated to the more “privileged” pioneers street artists such as Banksy, Shepard Fairey, and KAWS, but is now available and open on a much larger scale to support local graffiti artists. Anyway, enjoy the pictures, and to see more from Typoe (by the way, pretty cool concept on the name uh?) visit his Flikr here.
Tyler, The Creator‘s one of many alter egos, Thurnis Haley, talks about himself and his great passion for golfing in a promo video for Tyler’s upcoming album, Goblin. Thurnis is fifty years old and.. yeah, he “eats golf, sleeps golf”. The promo video, for as short as it is, is pretty humorous, well produced, and has that kind of Adult Swim Tim n Eric sort of feel. The short commercial came out yesterday, but in case you haven’t seen it, get prepared to hit the replay button plenty of times for Thurnis’ hysterical laugh. Props to the subliminal messages in the video too. Goblin comes out May 5th, but you can already pre-order a copy on both iTunes and Amazon. Enjoy:
