More Than Machines Video Trailer

I must say, I’m really not into wakeboarding, maybe its the amount of rednecks in the sport that are only surpassed by the number of rednecks in dirt biking, maybe its the towing of myself behind a giant blender usually driven by someone with below average IQ, I dont now. But I saw this teaser video recently of TransWorld WAKEboarding’s new video and its pretty goddamn impressive. The trailer for this video is really well shot, it seems with big companies like Nike 6.0 that they had a nice large budget to make the rest of the video easy to look at as well.  For the record these guys are not actually wakeboarding, they’re wakeskating which looks way more difficult and also much cooler, so that definitely helps keep it more interesting. Check it out:

Looks pretty damn fun right?

Gou Miyagi: Goin H.A.M. for Japan

The best description I’ve heard of Gou Miyagi would be calling him an “avant-garde” skateboarder. I’ve been checking out clips of him on the internet for a little while now and I’d have to say, style wise, this guy is pretty goddamn buckwild. Hailing from Japan, he is definitely showing people that it is still possible to have a very personal and unique style in this sport. Check him out:

Pretty next level right?

Danny Hart’s World Championships Winning Run

Danny Hart’s winning run at the 2011 downhill mountain biking World Championships is insane! Downhill mountain biking is essentially a time-trial event down the side of a ski hill. This video shows a phenomenal course in Champery, Switzerland, some talented riding, and includes some ridiculous commentary. Enjoy!

Video of the Week

Sorry that it’s a day late, but the combined tasks of finding a new apartment/moving in and finding potential women that I can trick into dating me has kept me pretty swamped. Anyway, this week I have a wrestling video for you, featuring Ellis Coleman just dominate his opponent. Watch as he uses his casual “vault over opponent” move combo’d with his “force opponent into a headstand” move:

It makes sense that he used such a flashy move; you’ve gotta do something to distract for those unitards.

Mountain Dew Present: The Pinball Skatepark

These fucking New-Zelanders came up with something the whole world is really not ready for. I’m sure everybody here has tried at least once to play pinball, whether it is on real life or on a computer, that shit, is entertaining. Anyways, these crazy island people crated one of the most expensive skate parks in the world (nearly half a million dollars worth) that resembles a Pinball machine down to each detail. Check it out, and if you ever happen to be in the area, and you happen to be a skater, check this thing out; enjoy:

The Art of FLIGHT

For those of you who know something about snowboarding, plan on seeing a new film by the producers of “That’s It, That’s All”. It’s called “The Art of FLIGHT” and it’s supposed to redefine the snowboard movie. At first that sounds like a tall order, but when we look at some of the other films by these guys (i.e. “First Descent”) it seems much more possible.

Visually the film looks great. All of the shots appear to be in high definition and it seems like they’re capturing some interesting/original angles of the steeze.

The film follows Travis Rice, John Jackson, Mark Landvik, Scotty Lago, Jake Blauvelt, Nicolas Muller, Gigi Ruf, DCP and Pat Moore (a really talented crew) across the globe as they imagine new/ridiculous ways to advance the sport of snowboarding.

They shot in a ton of places over the world, with Jackson Hole, Alaska, Chile, Aspen, Patagonia, British Columbia to name a few. Here, check out the trailer for some killer visuals:

Look for it late 2011.
