NVRMND Clothing’s “No More Roses Nor Pretty Patterns – NMRNPP” Collection Lookbook
Shout-out to your favorite spiritual entity, because NVRMND’s third season is almost ready. As always, we (especially Mr. Bato) poured ourselves into this season, and have traded quantity for quality. However, this time we’ve opted for a more clean cut yet casual look, aiming towards producing clothes that keep you at that happy middle-ground between looking like an overdressed dickhead and an underdressed mouth-breather. We’re sick of overdone flamboyance, and have decided that it’s time for some understated class to makes its way back onto the scene.
To start us off we have the the Rect-Logo Hoodie. It’s more comfortable than your favorite comfy sweater, but unlike yours, this one doesn’t make you look like a trashbag person. Made from 100% cotton, these hoodies have a huge center pocket, great for secure transportation of your school supplies or 40 ouncer, and extra long drawstrings that, in a pinch, can be used for chocking out assailants/victims. They come in three different colorways: gray (pictured above), black (pictured below) and burgundy (not pictured). Also note our Raw Denim pants, one of our proudest releases to date.
The black color way of the Rect-Hoodie is an ideal choice for those low profile It has the slimming qualities that come with black clothing, meaning no more feeling self-conscious about how chunky you look when you’re high at your local 7-Eleven stuffing bags of hamburger flavored chips up your shirt (it’s cool, we don’t judge).
One of the simpler pieces of the new season, our straight cut t-shirt is made from imported french terry cloth. This thing retains heat like a champ, and the inside of it feels like skinned baby seals without any of the guilt.
Next we have our Micro Houndstooth button-up, coupled with the NMRNPP raw denim jeans in black. Both are perfect examples of what we were going for in this season, and while at first glance you might think that they appear simple, once you have them on you’ll quickly change your mind. At first the jeans may feel a bit like testicle crushers, but that’s simply because they’re raw denim and they need to be broken in, and once that happens you won’t want to take them off. The indigo pair are made of italian raw denim, and the black pair are made from black raw bull denim.
We now come to the Polka button-up, which is a personal favorite of mine from the new season. I know what you’re thinking: “Oogie, I look like too much of a goon to wear this shirt.” Which is simply wrong. Anyone can pull this bad-boy off. In fact, the shirt compensates for your mediocre looks by emphasizing your suave characteristics, and the thick material and long sleeves hide any unsightly skin conditions you might have. They’re also made of 100% cotton, so they won’t add to any irritation you have.
Lastly we have our raw finish fleece top in black. This piece is crazy soft. How soft you ask? Think Asher Roth, minus that whole “embarrassingly bad” thing he has going on. It’s great for layering up on those colder days, or to hide your ugly/dirty clothes underneath.
All joking aside, we’re truly grateful that we’re still making clothes for you guys. A little over a year ago we had our first release, and it’s thanks to your support that we’ve been able to continue doing what we love. So thanks.

So yesterday we opened up sneak peak season with our NMRNPP COMMERCIAL but now it’s time to get serious and give you an idea about what this collection is all about. With everything being about excess and crazy head-to-toe patterns, but with also lack of quality and attention to detail, we decided to create a collection that focuses on clean cuts, quality materials to create something that can be worn anywhere, in every occasion and is simultaneously fashion conscious, timeless. With pieces ranging from raw denim, shirtings, high quality french terrys and fleeces, NMRNPP is a collection that mainly focuses on the roots of apparel construction, leaving space for the user to mold the apparel itself into their own lifestyle. NVRMND’s People We Like: Key Nyata
It’s time for us to present another one of the members of our NVRMND’s People We Like section, and this time its rapper Key Nyata. The guy, let me tell you, is pretty fucking talented and one of a kind. We are not the type to put labels on people, but if I had to put this guy under some sort of category for you people I would say Key Nyata is a mix of the Californian Swag rapper, some of that new Chopped and Sckrewed style, along with some of that good old educated flow typical of the East Coast. But still, fuck labels. Anyways, the guy is also a producer: his beats are usually characterized by slow-paced tempo and deep synths typical of that Chopped and Sckrewed style I was talking about earlier. Oh, and did I mention the kid is sixteen years old? Not bad uh?

NVRMND 2011 Edition: “Constantly Day-Dreaming”
Well, today’s the day. Our second season is finally here and ready for your grubby little hands to snatch up. We’ve been working on this set of clothes for quite a while now, and while it is not insanely extensive we do have a few gems for you to throw on. It’s taken a bit a of a toll on us, with friends and family complaining about being neglected, or when we’re with them, complaining about our minds being elsewhere. But they can take one for the team, we did it for you (and a little for ourselves) so take a look and know that we have more stuff planned for you in the near future.
Anyway, we’ve got some shots of the new season (featured below), check them out.
To start we have the “Constantly Day-Dreaming” Denim Jacket. It’s made from distressed denim that was hand treated, meaning each piece is one of a kind. The lining is 100% silk (crazy soft) so your skin won’t get roughed up (for all you kids with sensitive skin). This piece is quite limited, meaning no more than 50 will be released worldwide. Better cop it quick while they’re still in stock, and with a lining that slick they won’t last long.
Underneath that beautiful denim jacket we have the “Classic Logo” Tee. Following the old standard of quality over quantity we are releasing only 30 of these a year. Tastefully understate, the the “Classic Logo” Tee says “I slay hoodrats regularly, what of it?”.
Now we come to our “Poor Boy” crewneck that just reeks of elegance. Seriously, you’ll be hard pressed to find a crewneck that makes you feel cute in all of the right ways. Another piece that’s super limited, only 30 of each colorway will be released. It’s worth the purchase just for that stylish breast pocket. It comes in heather gray or navy blue.
The second colorway of the “Poor Boy” crewneck. It’s perfect for those cool, breezy summer nights, and the pocket is great for stashing your illicit item(s) of choice.
For all of you cat lovers we have the “Leopard Print” Tee, and at the risk of sounding effeminate this piece is pretty damn fierce. I guess that’s not a bad thing, seeing as fierce is a quality that you’d find in big cats like Leopards. And since we’re on the topic of big cats, that big cat Kreayshawn was seen sporting this Tee a little while back in one of our “NVRMND’s Friends” articles. Man, I would wife her in a second if she let me, and I question your manhood if you wouldn’t do the same.
Last but not least we have the “Safety” button down shirt. It’s a big time head turner and features some opened safety pins, showing that you’re a little edgy, but that you also play it safe (so you don’t scare off the ladies). This piece is super limited, with only 25 being released this season. We also have another one bad boys in a blue colorway (same design) coming out in the near future, so if you miss out on this one you don’t have to worry about whether or not you have enough baby aspirin to end your suffering just yet.
So as you can see we have a super limited season and unfortunately for some of you it is on a first come first serve basis. On the plus side, you’ll find in the store that we have quite a bit of patches and pins for you to throw on your gear if you are unable to snag a piece of your own. Also, keep an eye out for some of the Tees from last season. We’ll be rereleasing some of those later in the season.

So if you haven’t noticed by now, we love Kreayshawn. Seriously, about half of our staff would like nothing more than to wife this girl the first chance they get. But enough with being weird. The girl got recently signed to Sony for the modest amount of $1,000,000. Yeah, that’s a lot of new kitties and choppas (if you don’t get, just leave now). Here is an interview where she lets us know a little about herself, and makes pretty pleasing shout outs. (Editor’s note: IT’S N – V – R- M – N -D people, get it together)
We also hear the girl is working on her debut commercial album, but before that, we also hear that there will be a new mixtape coming from Kreay Kreay this week. Also, show some love and buy “Gucci, Gucci” on Itunes if you haven’t yet. And… Follow.

Release Date and Sneak Peak: NVRMND 2011 Edition “Constantly Day-Dreaming”
Well, it has come a little bit later than we had originally planned, but it looks like our second season is just about ready for the public. We are proud to announce that the official release date of our NVRMND 2011 season (Part I), titled “Constantly Day-Dreaming” is June 28th. This edition covers a wide spectrum of garments and accessories ranging from the more subtle and understated, to flare at its finest. Featured above is our very first publicly released jacket, and while it’s a cliché, don’t judge a book by its cover (although this book’s cover is fucking stylish). If you scrounge around on the internet you may be able to get a peak at the inside of the jacket, which is not only easy on the eyes, but soft against your delicate skin.
As we’ve stated before, every NVRMND item is limited edition, so when you are wearing one of our shirts, jackets, crew necks, etc. you are wearing one out of the few hundred that we made (at most). It sucks when you see other kids sporting the same gear you have on, doesn’t it?
Again, the release date is June 28th, so save up your money, beg your parents, rob the elderly, or do whatever you have to do to get some money in your pocket, because the release is less than two weeks away. It’s understandable if you were just overcome by excitement.
Ready For The Weeknd
The blogosphere has been singing the praises of Abel Tesfaye, who goes by the name The Weeknd, since the release of his exceptional first mixtape, House of Balloons in March of this year.
Planned as the first part in a trilogy of mixtapes, House of Balloons combines Tesfaye’s stunning voice and haunting instrumentals that sound like burned-out club jams for the apocalypse. Doomsday never sounded so sexy. The unifying factor in this melting pot of styles is the atmosphere of inherent darkness that pervades the tape, both in its lyrics and almost Burial-esque production. The songs are about mostly about drugs and women (no complaints here) but instead of singing about beautiful girls getting down in the club, Tesfaye instead focuses on the seediness of the party vibe and the regret and haze that come after a night of bad decisions.
The Weeknd is planning to release the next tape in the trilogy, Thursdays this summer and the triptych’s finale, Echoes of Silence sometime this fall. In the meantime, download House of Balloons for free at his site. This shits gonna be on repeat til Thursdays comes out.

Not too long ago, in our “NVRMND People We Like” section, we posted about one of our favorite girls in the music industry at the moment: Kreayshawn. The girl really has it going on, directing videos of a lot of the bay area rappers, including Lil B the Based God; her “Bumpin’ Bumpin'” video recently reached 100,000 views on YouTube; and on on top of that she recently performed at one of the MTV SxSW after parties. Swag? Swag.
Last night we received a pretty delightful twit picture from her personal Twitter account with the caption “NVRMND KREAYSHAWN, I’M JUST SMOKING”. The caption says it all, but the picture itself is even better.

NVRMND’s Movie Recommendations: “Dogtooth”
Before I start I’d like to say that this recommendation will not go into an in-depth analysis of the movie. I do this so for those reading who have yet to see the film. In fact, I’d prefer if you didn’t read my post and just watch the movie.
The movie I’m recommending is the foreign film “Dogtooth” or “Kynodontas” if you’re going by the original Greek title. It was directed by Giorgos Lanthimos who co-wrote it with Efthymis Filippou.
“Dogtooth” is easily one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen. The audience is basically forced into witnessing the lives of three teenagers who live in isolation and know nothing of the outside world. Their extremely imposing parents frighten them into submission through made up stories of the horrors that lay outside of their country estate. Teaching them the false definition of a word is common practice. For example, to them the “sea” is a large armchair and a “zombie” is a small yellow flower. The parents even go as far as to say that the children used to have a second brother who was disobedient and was thus ostracized. The only family member who is allowed to come and go as he pleases is the father, who supports the family with his job managing a local factory. The mother is basically just as trapped as the children, and in some ways lives a worse life because she is aware of what she is missing.
The only non-family member who is allowed on the premises is one of the father’s colleagues, Christina, who is paid to relieve the son of his sexual urges. The son begins to get bored of her, so she convinces the eldest daughter into some lesbian action. Thus the spread of sex floods the house, soon to be followed by hints of rebellion.
While we’re on the topic of sex in the movie, I’d like to point out the actors commitment to the role. All of them had to preform so very revealing stuff; stuff that in the States would have given this movie an “X” rating. That being said, it was done tastefully and did not distract from the point of the movie.
In my opinion the movie was shot beautifully. Beautiful as in almost every frame could make a great photo. Maybe I’m not the best judge, but on my first run through I was really digging the strange angles and lack of camera movement. It was a fresh breath compared to most movies where the camera is moving so much that you end up feeling motion sick by the end of it.
I strongly recommend this movie. While some people are frightened by foreign films (mostly due to the aspect of reading subtitles), this one moves at an easy pace due to strangeness of the characters lives. It’s also now available to stream from Netflix, so spend an hour and a half and watch it, you won’t regret it.
